Body found on side of Orange County road identified

Victim ID'd as Monserate Ruiz III, 37

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A man's body was found on the side of an Orange County road Monday afternoon and deputies are investigating it as a suspicious death.

The discovery was made around 5 p.m. along Dennis Avenue, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they received reports of an unresponsive man in the area of 1704 Dennis Ave. Passersby said it looked like the man was sleeping, but when they weren’t sure, they called 911.

Orange County Fire Rescue arrived and pronounced Monserate Ruiz III, 37, dead at the scene.

It’s possible Ruiz could have been left in the area, but there were no signs of trauma to his body, which is why his death is considered suspicious, deputies said.

The man has been identified, but deputies will not release his name until his family is notified.

No other information has been released.
