Orange County deputies release last picture of missing boater alive at McDonalds

Man's remains found inside a car at burning home, deputies say

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - Orange County detectives released the last known images of the missing boater who was found dead in a vehicle at a burning home last week.

Frank Wright, 65, was last spotted alive on surveillance video from the McDonalds on Ocoee Apopka Road at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Wright's family said he was at his second home, on the corner of W. Keene Road and McQueen Road in Orange County early Wednesday morning unloading the previous days catch before going on a fishing trip with his nephew. When his nephew arrived, Wright and his truck, boat and trailer were gone, according to the report.

A unrelated report of a fire was dispatched to the OCFD and OCSO Thursday morning at 4:40 a.m. At the home in the 7400 block of Radiant Circle, OCFR personnel arrived to put out the fire. The house, garage, and a Honda Accord in the garage were fully engulfed in flames.

As an investigation began at the home, State Fire Marshals discovered a body in the vehicle, which was in the garage. A medical examiner was able to preliminarily identify the remains discovered in the Accord as those of Wright.

Investigators said the Accord was stolen from the Carver Shores area before being discovered in the burning home.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen Wright Wednesday morning at the McDonalds to call 407-254-7000 or 407 836-HELP.
