ORLANDO, Fla. - A man had almost $10,000 of cash stolen out of his car in a Pollo Tropical parking lot--and the culprits are still on the run, according to Orlando police.

Police said the victim cashed a check for $9,847  at the Checks Cashed on South Semoran Boulevard just before 7:30 p.m.  Friday and then drove to the Pollo Tropical a few blocks away.

According to the report, the victim went into the restaurant to get his food and when he returned, he noticed his money was missing.

Police said in the surveillance video from the restaurant, a Ford SUV pulls next to the victim's car and man gets out wearing a black hat, black shirt and black pants, paces around the restaurant and then leaves in the SUV.

The investigation is ongoing and police say it appears the victim was followed because the only thing missing was his money.
