ORLANDO, Fla. - An Orlando police officer in Washington to honor fellow officers who gave their life in the line of duty helped saved a man's life.

Orlando police Lt. Doug Goerke, along with a police officer from St. Louis, performed CPR on a band member who was marching Wednesday in the parade at the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington.

Officials said the man collapsed from a heart attack and wasn't breathing.  Goerke and the other officer rendered aid and revived the man.

Orlando Police Department motor units, who also participated in the activities, escorted the ambulance to the hospital.

The man was expected to survive.
