Orlando police search for man involved in shooting, crash

Police believe shooting took place while car was in motion

ORLANDO, Fla. - Police are on the lookout for the male driver who ran away on foot after being involved in a shooting and crash in Orlando.

The incident happened Tuesday evening at Crystal Lake and South Street.

Orlando police said the victim of the shooting was the passenger in a silver BMW driving westbound on South Street.

As the vehicle turned south onto Crystal Lake, it crashed into the wall under the bridge, police said.

Witnesses saw the driver get out of the vehicle and pull the victim out of the car. As witnesses approached, the driver ran away on foot, according to police.

When police arrived, they discovered the victim had multiple gunshot wounds, but was conscious and talking. Police said it appeared the shooting took place inside the vehicle while it was in motion.

Orlando police searched for the driver Tuesday night, who they consider to be the suspect.

Police described the driver as a black man who is 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing dark clothing when the incident took place.

The passenger's condition was not released.

Anyone with information about the shooting or crash is asked to call the Orlando Police Department.
