PALM BAY, Fla. - Two Palm Bay brothers are facing gun and drug charges after police officers said they found cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamines along with a firearm in their car early Wednesday morning.

An 8-year-old child was in the back seat at the time of the arrest, police said, resulting in 22-year-old Josh Pagan and 18-year-old Israel Pagan also being charged with child endangerment, News 6 partner Florida Today reported.

The Pagan brothers were arrested after police said they smelled marijuana in the car during a routine traffic stop. A resulting search yielded the drugs and a gun.

The relationship of the child to the brothers was not disclosed by police.

Police said the brothers attracted law enforcement attention in February when Joshua, a boxer, was fighting in the ring at the Tony Rosa Community Center in Palm Bay.

During the match, Israel Pagan entered the ring and struck his brother's opponent on the back of the head and injured him, according to Palm Bay Police Department spokesman Lt. Mike Bandish.

According to police reports, the state attorney's office is investigating whether to pursue criminal charges against the younger brother in connection with the incident.

A YouTube video of the fight posted by Telemundo Deportes shows the older brother pinned against the ropes by his opponent before a spectator — wearing a hat covering long hair bearing a resemblance to Israel — leaps up and strikes Joshua's opponent on the back of the head.

The fight was stopped and security removed the attacker.

Both brothers are being held in the Brevard County Jail Complex on no bond.
