Paul McCartney adds 2nd show at Amway Center

McCartney kicks off US tour in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. - Paul McCartney has added a second show at the Amway Center in May, according to concert officials.

Because of overwhelming demand, the second show will be on Sunday, May 19.  Tickets are on sale for that concert immediately.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer announced last week that McCartney will kick off the U.S. leg of his "Out There" tour at the Amway Center on May 18.

Local 6 spoke to some fans who said they were frustrated that the tickets were too expensive and too hard to find.

"They're pretty much nose bleed seats in the upper bowl," said Ken Wyko, who used his American Express card during the pre-sale for $84 tickets. "It's just a business, they run it the way they see fit, even if it is at the public's expense"

Bill Warheit of Rock and Roll Heaven said most of the tickets that are sold during the pre-sale aren't being purchased by Orlando residents. Instead, ticket brokers like StubHub are buying them.

"The moment that those tickets go on sale, the pre-sale, those people will jam the lines and buy as many tickets as they possibly can," Warheit said.

Local 6 found the cheapest tickets available on Friday were $79, with others in front of the stage going for $900 a piece.

Amway Center and LiveNation officials wouldn't comment on how many tickets were available for sale to the general public for each show.

The tour will also be making stops May 22 in Austin, Texas at the Frank Erwin Center, May 29 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the BOK Center, July 9 in Boston, Massachusetts at Fenway Park and July 12 in Washington DC at Nationals Ballpark.
