Person of interest sought in Misty Oaks double homicide

ORLANDO, Fla. - Deputies are asking for the public's help in finding a 35-year-old man wanted in connection to a double homicide and attempted homicide at the Misty Oaks Apartments.

Nicholas Lopez has been named a person of interest in the incident that happened Aug. 5, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said Lopez is the brother of 32-year-old David Lopez, who was arrested on a warrant in Charlotte, North Carolina on Aug. 9 on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder in the case.

Nicholas Lopez may be in the Charlotte area, where he has relatives. However, detectives believe Nicholas Lopez could also be in the Orlando area, deputies said.

James Hubert Stewart, 29, was arrested Aug. 8 on a warrant for attempted murder regarding an incident on Magnolia Homes Road, which is connected to the Misty Oaks double homicide, deputies said.

The injured woman in the incident who was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center has been released, according to the Sheriff's Office.
