Plane formerly connected to Casey Anthony crashes

The plane that was once owned by the lawyer for Casey Anthony and involved in a 2011 Anthony hoax crashed and killed the six people on board Thursday afternoon.

Records show the plane was once owned by former Anthony lawyer Todd Macaluso and was part of a hoax in the summer of 2011, with a Anthony look-a-like running from the plane at Orlando Executive Airport. Anthony had just been acquitted of the murder of her daughter, Caylee Anthony.

According to registration records, the plane has changed hands at least once since then.

Polk County fire officials said the crash happened about 1 p.m. near Walk in Water Road, which is located by David's Wines Airstrip Airport in the Tiger Creek Preserve.

The victim names have not been released, but authorities say two adults and four children were killed. Polk County sheriff's deputies said it's believed there are no survivors.

The cause of the crash wasn't immediately known.
