Police: Bethune-Cookman basketball player arrested on marijuana, gun possession charges

Police say loaded handgun was in vehicle

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Marc Mack, a prominent player on the Bethune Cookman's mens basketball team was arrested last Thursday night on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and being in possession of marijuana according to a police report.

The report shows that a little before 11 p.m. last Thursday Daytona Beach police observed a suspicious vehicle that was occupied with 4 persons located at Sickler Park.

Once police made contact with the vehicle, the driver, Mack, was asked to roll down his window, and that is when the report states that the officer noted a distinct smell of mairjuana.

Police said that a green leafy substance was in plain sight along with two "blunts" which prompted a search of the vehicle.

The search by police yielded a .45 gun along with a full magazine of ammo.
