PORT ORANGE, Fla. - A 45-year-old man was arrested by Port Orange police on suspicion of stealing jewelry from a home after he pretended to be an exterminator.

Johnny Mack Swanger was arrested Tuesday on charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling and grand theft.

According to Port Orange police, a man later identified as Swanger entered a home under the guise that he was there to spray the residence for bugs.

The next day, police said, the resident noticed that jewelry had been stolen from the home.

An investigation led police to Swanger, who was arrested and taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail.

Port Orange police said it's believed that Swanger also victimized another person via the same method.
