NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of raping a 59-year-old woman at gunpoint, according to New Smyrna Beach police.

James Smith was arrested Wednesday night on charges of sexual battery and aggravated battery.

According to New Smyrna Beach police, Smith, who knew the woman, entered her room with a .38-caliber handgun and forced her to engage in sexual activity.
