TITUSVILLE, Fla. - Titusville police said a 19-year-old man shot himself after an all night standoff at a home on Melody Lane.

Local 6 has confirmed police were called to the home at about 7 p.m. Tuesday after the 19-year-old made suicidal threats. Local 6 news partner Florida Today reports police said a father and son got into an argument and the son threatened the father.

Officers observed the teen holding a gun in his hand and made multiple attempts to communicate with the teen, to no response.

Police sent a Brevard County Sheriff's robot into the home for safety reasons, but the robot was unable to find the suspect. The officers found the teen in the attic, Florida Today reports.

"He had a gun to his head," Dennon told Florida Today.. "The gun went off, and I believe he fell through the ceiling."

A SWAT medic provided care to the teen, who was then airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
