Police say woman caught intruder breaking into house while showering

OCALA, Fla. - An Ocala woman wearing only a towel chased an intruder from her home on Wednesday firing warning shots into the air and grabbing him by the shirt, according to police.

Police said the woman was taking a shower at her home on Northeast 45th Terrace when she heard her dog barking loudly and the sliding glass door opening. The woman got out of the shower and saw the man with one foot in the door, according to police.

The woman then yelled at the intruder, chased him out of her house grabbing at his shirt and fired warning shots into the air. The culprit jumped the wooden fence and was able to grab the the man's shoe.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the man. He's described as a young white male, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall with short blond hair. Contact Ocala police if you have any information on the culprit's whereabouts.
