The winning ticket, which will share the historic $1.5 billion jackpot, was sold at the Publix at 3830 State Road A1A in Melbourne Beach, according to officials.

"(We're) very excited for the customer, or customers, that may have purchased that winning Powerball ticket," A Publix representative said Thursday morning in an impromptu news conference outside the Melbourne Beach store.

The other winning tickets were sold in California and Tennessee.

The winning Powerball numbers called Wednesday night were 4-8-19-27-34 (Powerball) 10.

The jackpot is the largest ever worldwide. The prize money in Florida would be made in annual payments over 29 years or the winner could opt for a lump-sum payment of of $327.8 million, according to the lottery.

The winners won't take home the full $1.5 billion, though. First, there will be an expensive tax bill, and the prize money will be split evenly among them.

The previous drawing, on January 9, was the 19th in a row without a grand prize winner.

Tickets cost $2, or $3 for a Power Play ticket, which boosts the value of non-jackpot prizes.

To win the grand prize, the ticket must match all five numbers (in any order) and the red Powerball number.

Anyone with just a matching Powerball number gets four bucks.

Tickets with more matching numbers are eligible for a prize of $7, $100, $50,000 or $1 million.

Powerball players spent an estimated $2.6 billion on tickets since the last jackpot was claimed in November.
