The fund, which has grown to more than $20 million, was formed after the June 12 mass shooting at the Orlando nightclub, which left 49 dead and 53 others injured.

The board of the organization is encouraging input from the victims' families and survivors of the Pulse tragedy and the Orlando community on a draft that will outline a process for the distribution of the funds directly to the victims' families and survivors.

A first draft of how the money would be divided was released in July.

According to fund administrator Ken Feinberg, death claims will receive the highest category of payment.  The families of the 49 people who died will receive the most money in equal amounts.

Next, physical injury claims will be paid based on severity to victims who were hospitalized one or more nights.
Those who were physically injured but were treated on an outpatient basis will receive the next highest amounts.

Individual claims by uninjured victims who were inside the nightclub will receive the least amount of money.

All suggestions will be considered in Thursday's meetings, which are open to the public.

"I will take that input from victims, from families (and) from the public and evaluate it," said Feinberg.

The town hall meetings will be held at 12:30 and 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Amway Center at 400 W. Church St. Parking will be available in the GEICO garage across the street from the Amway Center. Disabled parking is available on the fifth floor.
