Wife of Pulse gunman to be brought back to Florida

Noor Salman no longer in custody in California

ORLANDO, Fla. – The wife of Pulse nightclub shooter Omar Mateen will soon be returning to Florida to face trial.

Court documents obtained Wednesday by News 6 show attorneys for Noor Salman waived her right to a removal hearing next week.

The decision clears the way for her to be brought back to the state to face trial in the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division.

Officials said Thursday afternoon that she was no longer in the Alameda County Santa Rita Jail, but could not confirm her exact location for policy and security reasons.

Salman was arrested in California earlier this year on charges of helping her husband scout potential shooting targets prior to the June 12th shooting at the Pulse Nightclub that left 49 people dead. Mateen was later shot and killed by police.

Last month, a California judge ruled Salman could be released on a $500,000 bail, but a judge in Florida later revoked that bail and ordered that she remain in jail until her trial.
