Rare albino peacock rescued in Conway community

Picked on for being different than other birds

ORLANDO, Fla. – A rare albino peacock was rescued in a Conway community from a predictable death due to the birds differences.

Jorge Marino, the neighbor of the people who saved the bird, said in a message, "We had one last year and it had to be rescued as well. The fact that is (it's) uniquely different from all the rest makes it a target from its own kind."

The bird was later taken to a bird sanctuary in Christmas, Fla., Marino said.

They hope to later bring the bird back to the community once it is able to protect itself.
