Red Sox fan steals woman's home run ball, gets thrown out of game

Man misses exciting rally as Boston evens series

BOSTON, Mass. - One Boston Red Sox fan's bitter move caused security to kick him out of a playoff game, forcing him to listen to a dramatic comeback victory on the radio.

In the sixth inning of Game 2 of the American League Championship series, the Red Sox trailed the Detroit Tigers 3-0. The Red Sox couldn't even muster a hit, leaving fans frustrated.

Detroit's Alex Avila launched a two-run blast to right field, giving his Tigers a commanding 5-0 lead.

The woman who caught the home run ball immediately felt pressure to throw it back. Video shows fans chanting "throw it back" and pointing to the field. Suddenly, the man sitting next to her ripped the ball from her hands and threw it onto the field.

According to reporters at Fenway Park, the fan was escorted out of the ballpark by security.

Two innings later, Red Sox star David Ortiz crushed a game-tying grand slam. In the 9th inning, the Red Sox completed the comeback when Jarrod Saltalamacchia singled home Jonny Gomes. The dramatic rally happened with the rude fan missing the moment.
