Rick Scott wins GOP nomination for Florida governor

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Rick Scott won the Republican nomination for Florida governor, the office he currently holds.

With 33 percent of the precincts reporting, Scott garnered 87 percent of the votes. He faced off against Elizabeth Cuevas-Neunder and Yinka Adeshina.

Scott will face former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist in November.  Crist on Tuesday won the Democratic nomination for governor.  Crist was a Republican when he was the governor of the Sunshine State but later switched to the Democratic party.
