ORLANDO, Fla. – Police are asking for the public's help in finding a robber who held a person at gunpoint at an Orlando bank.

It happened around 5:10 a.m. July 1 at the TD Bank at 4675 South Kirkman Road.

Officers met with the victim, who told them he was robbed at gunpoint while using the bank's drive-thru ATM.

The victim told Orlando police that as he removed the money from the ATM, the robber pointed a silver handgun at the victim and a struggle ensued.

The robber threatened to shoot the victim and was able to take the money from the victim's hand, police said.

Local 6 spoke to the victim, Earl Johnson, from his home Thursday.

"I could hear his voice at first he said, 'Give me your money or I'll shoot you.' I thought I imagined it," Johnson said.

But then Johnson said the robber put the gun up near his face where he could see it. He said he tried pushing the gas pedal to take off, but his car wasn't in the proper gear.

Johnson initially told the robbery suspect no, but after waiving a silver handgun and threatening to shoot him the robber snatched the cash right out of Johnson's hand.

Johnson said he tried to follow the suspect in his car, but soon lost sight of him.

The robber was last seen running away from the bank on foot. Orlando police described the robber as a black male with a low haircut.
