Search continues for driver after train hits car in Orange County

Deputies say they're looking for woman who may have driven car

PINE CASTLE, Fla. – Deputies continue to search for a woman who may have been driving a car that was hit by a train in Orange County.

The crash happened Wednesday evening along Orange Avenue at Glenrose Road in Pine Castle.

Officials said they have not found the driver or passenger from the car.

In November, a dump truck driver had died after his truck was hit by an Amtrak train at this same railroad crossing. Troopers said that driver didn't stop at a stop sign.

An investigation led by Local 6 found that a total of five deaths at the same crossing had occurred within the last ten years. An engineers report called the crossing extra hazardous and unreasonably difficult to safely cross.
