SeaWorld Orlando rescues wounded manatee near Cocoa Beach

ORLANDO, Fla. - SeaWorld Orlando rescued an 8-foot female manatee from Cocoa Beach after it had appeared to be struck by a boat on its upper back.

SeaWorld officials said they received the call of the manatee floating unusually on its right side in the Banana River on Tuesday.

The manatee was taken to SeaWorld for further care. SeaWorld's Animal Rescue Team will conduct tests on the manatee to determine the nature of her injuries.
