Seminole County middle school principal arrested on DUI charges

Teague Middle School principal placed on leave, under unrelated investigation

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – A Seminole County middle school principal under investigation on accusations of improperly using the school's purchasing card was arrested on driving under the influence charges.

Leon McCants, principal of Teague Middle School in Altamonte Springs, has been placed on paid administrative leave after Winter Springs police arrested and charged him with DUI Saturday.

Officials say McCants was under investigation for buying more than $4,000 in gift cards for employees and himself, using the school's purchasing card.

The Seminole County Public Schools board said it will recommend not renewing McCants contract, which expires at the end of June.
