SANFORD, Fla. - Deputies are charging a mother with child neglect and resisting arrest after they say she left her two children at a 7-Eleven in Sanford and told them to sleep in the woods.

Tiffany Buffkin, 32, was arrested late Sunday night after officers say they found one of her children outside the convenience store. The child said he had been there for more than an hour as "punishment" for an argument, and he had been told to sleep in the woods.

Soon after, officers say a clearly intoxicated Buffkin appeared from behind the convenience store. A deputy investigated behind the store and found a second child asleep in the bushes, according to the report.

Deputies say that Buffkin resisted arrest and yelled profanities while she was being detained. She has been charged with child neglect, disorderly intoxication and resisting officer arrest.
