LEESBURG, Fla. - A chain reaction crash in Leesburg early this afternoon caused by a pickup truck injured seven people and damaged two vehicles.

The crash occurred around 1 p.m. while a Lake Express bus was stopped on the side of the road picking up passengers with a medical vehicle parked behind it. The truck slammed into the back of the medical unit, propelling it forward into the back of the bus, according to police.

Police apprehended the driver of the truck after he fled the scene on foot. They say he has several license suspensions and driving charges on his record.

Although no serious injuries were reported, four bus passengers and the driver of the medical vehicle were transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center, while two passengers of the truck were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
