Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Lake, Volusia Counties

CENTRAL FLORIDA - At 7:31 p.m. Saturday evening, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Lake and Volusia Counties for torrential downpours and wind gusts in excess of 60 mph.

The line of storms will move through Central Florida at nearly 50 mph, potentially producing some wind damage through 9 p.m. By midnight, the strong storms will be through the area, with skies clearing overnight and temperatures cooling in the upper 50s.
