Small plane catches fire during emergency landing, Titusville officials say

Single-engine plane had engine trouble, landed at Space Coast Regional Airport

TITUSVILLE, Fla. - A small plane caught fire during an emergency landing at Space Coast Regional Airport in South Titusville, fire officials said.

Authorities were called at 1:01 p.m. Saturday to the airport in South Titusville.

The single-engine plane had engine trouble and already landed when crews arrived.

Smoke could be seen coming from the engine compartment, which became engulfed in flames, Titusville Fire officials said.

Crews put out the fire within five minutes after arriving at the scene. Three people were aboard the small plane, officials said.

No injuries were reported.
