INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION - The Expedition 34 crew at the International Space Station will return to Earth on Thursday following a historic changing of the guard aboard the ISS.
Astronaut Kevin Ford gave command of the ISS to Canadian Flight Engineer Chris Hadfield, making Hadfield the first Canadian to be named commander of the station.
Hadfield will command the Expedition 35 crew, which includes astronauts Thomas Marshburn and Christopher Cassidy.
Ford and the Expedition 34 team will undock from the ISS at around 8:30 p.m. The crew is expected to land back on Earth just before midnight.
Ford and his two cosmonaut team members will have spent 143 days in space when they leave the ISS.
Expedition 35 will begin as soon as the Soyuz capsule undocks on Thursday night.
