Space Shuttle Enterprise test damaged on way to museum

Weather blamed on collision between shuttle, bridge

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Already a day late arriving, space shuttle Enterprise has been damaged on its way to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, due to weather.

According to Local 6 news partners at Florida Today and, Enterprise's right wing scraped a railroad bridge abutment during a barge ride on the way between John F. Kennedy Airport and Jersey City, N.J. on Sunday.

The report says a wind gust threw the wing into the side of the bridge, causing minor cosmetic damage to Enterprise's right wing. It is due to be ferried to the museum in New York City on Tuesday.
