Stolen bridesmaids dresses found days before wedding

ORLANDO, Fla. – A bride and groom are relieved after a stranger finds bridesmaid dresses, tossed from their stolen family member's car.

The car was stolen Sunday morning, by that same evening the groom spotted the thieves in the stolen car at Sammy's Food Mart in Sanford. The group of teens ran, but the 15-year-old driver was caught by police. However, the dresses were not inside.

The couple, who did not want to be named, reached out to News 6, hoping someone watching our story may have randomly seen the dresses. Turns out, Sanford woman Wendy King-Hernandez did.

While walking near Sammy's Food Mart Tuesday, she found the bag filled with brand-new dresses near a dumpster. King-Hernandez took it home, unsure of whom it belonged.

"This is something important. this belongs to somebody, I just knew it in my heart," King-Hernandez said.

King-Hernandez contacted our team, to reunite the dresses with the bride.

The bride was shocked, “I can't believe this. What are the odds, right?”

All four dresses were still in perfect condition, King-Hernandez said she wanted the bride to feel like she once did.

"It's your one day to be a princess and I know what that's like and I'll never forget it, and I wanted to make sure that happened for you.”

King-Hernandez is now invited to the wedding, and plans to attend.
