NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – Volusia County Beach Patrol officials said a man was bitten by a shark while surfing Sunday afternoon.
Officials said the 24-year-old man from Gulfport was bitten on his left foot. He suffered minor puncture wounds and a few lacerations, but officials said he did not need to go to the hospital.
