Surgical mask-wearing robber strikes 2 banks in 1 night

Winter Park, Orlando banks robbed

WINTER PARK, Fla. - A bank robber pulls off a daring heist in the middle of the night and it was all caught on camera. It was one of two suspected robberies, according to police.

The first robbery happened just after 1 a.m. Tuesday at the Old Florida National Bank on West Smith Street.

Two hours later, police believe the same thief struck again, about three miles to the northeast in Winter Park at the Orange Bank on South Orlando Avenue, just south of Minnesota.

Winter Park police describe the suspect as a thin male, wearing a dark skull cap, visible white surgical mask to conceal his face, a long sleeve hooded shirt with white horizontal lines, dark long pants, and knit gloves, and black sneakers.
