Survivor speaks out as new video released in fatal Titusville shooting

Bruce Blake reflects on how his neighbor opened fire on him, killing 2 others

TITUSVILLE, Fla. - Surveillance video released from the Brevard County State Attorney's Office on Wednesday shows William Woodward opening fire on his neighbors.

The shots killed Gary Hembree and Roger Picior, but Bruce Blake survived the shooting. Blake was shot eleven times in his driveway on Smith Drive in Titusville.

Local 6 got his reaction of the newly released video.

"Why me? How come I didn't go with my buddies," Blake told Local 6 on Wednesday.

Blake has had nine surgeries so far and says the video is very hard to watch.

"It brought it back so vivid, you know, the actual sounds of it is what really got me," he said.

At one point police say Woodward stops shooting to reload his gun, then continues firing rounds. Woodward told investigators he had good reason to kill his neighbors, saying he had been tormented by them.

Blake doesn't know of anything that night that would have triggered the attack.
He thinks it's something Woodward had been planning for some time.

"The Lord left me here for a reason so I'm going to find that out, and uh, I recon one of the man ones is so I can tell the story on what happened, what really happened," he said.

Woodward is still in jail, awaiting his trial.
