(LAKANA) â A Florida man is fighting to keep his pet alligator, Gwendolyn, whom he has owned for 47 years.
Florida Fish and Wildlife authorities are investigating retired firefighter Dan Van Buren after a complaint about the gator.

Gwendolyn is 13-feet long and likes pizza and Chips Ahoy cookies, UPI reported. The name Gwendolyn was a case of mistaken gender; Van Buren did not realize it was a male gator until later.
Officials said the alligator is not caged properly. No decision has been made whether Van Buren will be allowed to keep it.
