DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - A 30-year-old man covered in tar was arrested on allegations of trying to break into a Daytona Beach gas station through an air conditioning shaft on the roof.

Joshue Holoman, of Orlando, was arrested Tuesday on two counts of attempted burglary of an unoccupied structure, possession of burglary tools and criminal mischief.

According to police, officers were called to the Sunoco at 645 N. Atlantic Ave. by a witness who heard strange noises, described as whistling, snorting, a torch sound and a rattling fence.

Police said they found Holoman on the roof, covered in tar.  Holoman first said he was on the roof to see some family but changed his story, saying he was an AC technician trying to fix the units, according to police.

Holoman later changed his story again, saying he was on the roof sleeping and rubbed the roofing tar on his body so he could not be seen from the ground.

He was also spotted on the roof of another nearby business, police said.

Police said they found Holoman with a makeshift prying tool used on the AC shaft.

Holoman was arrested and taken to jail.
