Teens burglarize Leesburg home with woman inside, deputies say

Deputies: Pair arrested near woman's home after burglary

LEESBURG, Fla. – Two teenage boys were arrested Thursday after authorities said they burglarized a Leesburg woman's home.

The woman, who reported the burglary at her home on Sleepy Hollow Road just after 10 a.m., said she heard someone inside her house and came out of her bedroom to see two teenagers wearing hoodies fleeing her property, Lake County deputies said.

Deputies and Leesburg police established a perimeter around the woman's home and used a helicopter and a K-9 unit to search for the suspects.

Keson Donaldson, 18, of Eustis, and a 16-year-old boy from Leesburg were found near the Laurel Oaks Apartments, not far from the woman's home, deputies said.

Donaldson was wearing a grey hoodie and had a backpack with another grey hoodie stuffed inside of it, according to the arrest report.

Deputies said both suspects confessed to the burglary. The pair was arrested and charged with burglary to an occupied dwelling.
