JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – While it was a sea of Georgia red and Florida blue in Jacksonville, you might have seen some black and gold as well.
University of Central Florida flags and signs could be seen flying high in the national spotlight as ESPN's "College GameDay" broadcast from outside TIAA Bank field for the Florida-Georgia game.
Jacob Serre and Melissa Owens, of Volusia County, got their spot with their signs at 5:30 a.m.
"We heard a lot from friends, and we heard from staff as well who told us to take [our sign] down in the middle of the show," Serre said.
This all comes after one analyst on the national pregame show recently dismissed the school's success, which prompted backlash from UCF fans.

Attorney Chad Barr, who had a banner flying over the Alabama-Louisville game in Orlando at Camping World Stadium last month, tried to organize a caravan of UCF fans to crash ESPN's "College GameDay."
Even as more than 60 people signed up for the caravan, Barr pulled the plug after he said they received threats of violence online.

For Serre and Owens, they were ready to support UCF no matter what.
"All we have to do is win and then push our brand, and that's all we want to do," Owens said.
"We've gotten a lot of backlash from the media about our performance and our schedule, so all we wanted to do was get out here and be on the stage and get our presence out here and show our brand in a positive way, and I think we did that today," Serre said.
UCF football will host Temple University on Thursday night.
