Knight fans gather at Brighthouse Networks Stadium for FanFest

ORLANDO, Fla. - As the 2012 fall semester began Monday on UCF's campus, the Knights got back to work on the practice field.

For only the second time this preseason, the team practiced in the early morning. This coming on the heals of a successful FanFest event on Saturday. A large crowd gathered to get autographs and photos with players and team staff.

Head coach George O'Leary said the immediate goal is to set a two-deep rotation and keep the players competing for those spots.

"I want to still see competition from some of the ones and twos, and the twos and threes, because I don't think anything is done until next Tuesday," O'Leary said.

A closed scrimmage is expected Tuesday; a final depth chart will then be set.

On Thursday, the Knights will focus their on-field preparations toward their first opponent -- Akron.
