UCF lands commitments on National Signing Day

Replacing Blake Bortles and Storm Johnson

The Knights have completed National Signing Day on Wednesday, landing 17 signees, according to UCF Athletics.

UCF commitment list, per UCF Athletics:

1) Tyler Harris- QB (Blackshear, Ga.)
Ht. 6-4      Wt. 220
With Blake Bortles leaving for the NFL draft, the UCF QB position will be up for grabs in the spring where Harris will battle for the starting Position. Harris, a four-star recruit according to ESPN, which lists him as the No. 12 pocket passer in the country. Harris threw for 2,800 yards as a senior while throwing for 21 touchdowns and running for six more.

2) Luke Palmer- OL (Wauchula, Fla.)
Ht. 6-4      Wt. 280
Named the No. 95 offensive tackle, and given a three-star rating by ESPN. Named to the 2013 Florida 5A All-State Team.

3) Tre'Quan Smith- WR (Delray Beach, Fla.)
Ht. 6-3       Wt. 180
Smith, a three-star recruit according to ESPN, posted over 1,000 yards of total offense in back-to-back seasons as a junior and senior in high school, totaling 26 touchdowns.

4) Jordan Franks- ATH (Crawfordville Fla.)
Ht. 6-4      Wt. 210
Franks, a three-star recruit according to ESPN, finished his senior season with 62 receptions for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns.

5) Wyatt Miller- OL (Douglas, Ga.)
Ht. 6-6       Wt. 280
Miller was ranked as the No. 53 offensive tackle by 247Sports and No. 92 by ESPN. He received a three-star ranking from both outlets.

6) Chris Davis Jr.- WR (Oviedo, Fla.)
Ht. 6-1        Wt. 180
A former high school QB, Orlando-area native Chris Davis, will move to the WR position for the Knights.

7) Jamiyus Pittman- DL (Moultrie, Ga.)
Ht. 6-2       Wt. 300
Pittman was ranked a three-star recruit by ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports. He was ranked as the No. 34 defensive tackle in the country by Rivals, No. 41 by ESPN and No. 54 by 247 Sports. In eight games in 2013, Pittman collected four sacks and approximately 50 tackles.

8) Chavis Dickey- OL (Byron, Ga.)
Ht. 6-4        Wt. 300
Dickey, rated as a three-star offensive lineman by both ESPN and Rivals, received a spot in the 2014 Offense-Defense All-American Bowl in Orlando.

9) Kyle Gibson- DB (Tampa, Fla.)
Ht. 6-0        Wt. 180
Gibson is listed as a four-star recruit by ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports. ESPN places him at No. 10 on the country's top safeties chart. Rivals has Gibson ranked as the No. 16 corner back in the nation.

10) C.J. Jones- RB (Daytona Beach, Fla.)
Ht. 5-10       Wt. 195
Jones, a three-star recruit according to ESPN and Rivals, is listed as the No. 62 running back. Jones rushed for 1,250 yards as a senior, totaling 12 touchdowns.

11) Lance McDowdell- DL (Mount Vernon, N.Y.)
Ht. 6-4         Wt. 310
Given a four star rating from 247Sports, McDowdell is listed as the No. 7 JUCO defensive tackle in the country.

12) Errol Clarke- LB (Miami, Fla.)
Ht. 6-3        Wt. 240
247Sports gave Clarke a four-star rating and listed him as the No. 1 JUCO inside linebacker in the country.

13) Joey Connors- DE (Powder Springs, Ga.)
Ht. 6-4       Wt. 270
Ranked as the No. 79 defensive tackle in the nation by 247Sports, Connors amassed 66 tackes, 10 for loss and five sacks, while forcing six fumbles and an interception during his senior season.

14) Tre Neal- DB (Buford, Ga.)
Ht. 6-2        Wt. 185
Ranked as the No. 76 safety in the country by 247Sport, Neal completed his senior year with 54 tackles, four tackles for loss, one forced fumble, three break-ups and two interceptions.

15) A.J. Wooten- DL (Alapaha, Ga.)
Ht. 6-5        Wt. 240
Wooten is rated as a three-star recruit by ESPN and is ranked as the No. 100 defensive end. During his junior year of high school, Wooten collected 64 tackles and four sacks.

16) Chris Williams- DB (St. Marys, Ga.)
Ht. 6-2         Wt. 180
Williams, who received a four star rating from ESPN, is ranked No. 19 among all safeties.

17) Mike Rogers- DB (Smyrna, Ga.)
Ht. 6-0        Wt. 180
Listed as the No. 19 safety and a four-star recruit by 247Sports, Rogers is also ranked as the No. 32 athlete in the country by Rivals.
