Universal Orlando ride technician died of electrocution, medical examiner says

Man was working on 'Men in Black' ride

ORLANDO, Fla. – A Universal Orlando worker who was found dead in November while working on a ride was electrocuted, the Orange County medical examiner said.

Officials found Leopoldo Buenaventura, 60, on the "Men In Black: Alien Attack" ride around 2:30 a.m. Nov. 8. Police said the incident did not appear to be suspicious.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Buenaventura's death has been ruled accidental because of low voltage electrocution.

Universal Orlando released a statement at the time of Buenaventura's death.

"This is sad news for all of us and we will do everything we can to take care of his family and our team members," Universal officials said.  "We are working to fully understand what happened and we will cooperate with all relevant authorities. We are not going to speculate about what happened, but we can say this has nothing to do with ride safety or the guest experience."
