The Universal Studios Orlando Revenge of the Mummy ride was closed for inspection for the second time in two days after a woman was injured, according to Local 6 News.
Local 6 News reported that a woman's arm became stuck in a handrail at the ride. The ride was reopened after it was deemed safe.
The condition of the woman was not known.
Wednesday, a 34-year-old man attempting to board the same ride died after he fell into an area in front of a stationary vehicle, according to Local 6 News.
Jose Valadez, 39, of Apopka, died Wednesday after surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center, a day after falling about 4 feet from the platform of the Revenge of the Mummy ride, said his wife, Paula Valadez. It was unclear how he fell.
After falling, he hit his head on the tracks and complained that his stomach hurt and he could not feel his leg, Orlando Fire Department Assistant Chief Greg Hoggatt said.
"It appears our guest was trying to enter the front row of the vehicle and when he misstepped, he apparently fell about 4 feet to an area in front of where the vehicle was stopped," Universal spokesman Tom Schroder said.
Velasquez was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Condition were he later died, Local 6 News reported.
Officials said that when a Revenge of the Mummy ride car is ready for boarding a gate swings open so passengers can step in.
Schroder said the ride's gate was functioning and operational at the time of the incident.
"Hundreds of thousands of our guests have ridden this attraction safely since we opened it," Schroder said. "This is the first incident of this kind since the ride was opened."
Universal officials opened the ride about three hours after the incident after the ride was deemed operational and safe.
Park officials said they are investigating the incident.
It was the first major accident on the Mummy since it opened in May and the second death at Universal Orlando in a year. Last September, a woman died at a hospital after passing out on the Incredible Hulk Coaster at Universal's Islands of Adventure.
