Deputies looking for Troy William Phoenix

OAK HILL, Fla. – The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who detonated a pipe bomb in the yard of a home in Oak Hill on Friday.

Deputies are asking for information on the whereabouts of Troy William Phoenix, 36, who will be facing charges of possession/discharge of a destructive device, possession/manufacture of explosives and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to deputies.

According to deputies, Phoenix was upset because he was being evicted from a shed on the property at 372 Beehive Drive, and threatened to blow up the house and everyone in it during a verbal dispute.

Phoenix then armed himself with a pipe bomb, lit the fuse, went into the house and then threw the pipe bomb out the door and into the yard, where it detonated, according to deputies.

Deputies said nobody was injured in the explosion.
