Warehouse fire destroys thousands of dollars worth of merchandise

Merchandise damaged at Interfaith's Emergency Service Warehouse

OCALA, Fla. - A vehicle crash ignited a fire at an Ocala warehouse on Friday, causing thousands of dollars of damage.

Officials say the fire was reported at around 3:45 a.m. at Interfaith's Emergency Service Warehouse, located between NW 7th Street and NW 5th Avenue.

Although no one was harmed and Ocala Fire Rescue was able to successfully extinguish the fire, thousands of dollars worth of merchandise were destroyed. Some of the merchandise included donations of brand-new items made by a large retail store.

The fire was extinguished before there were any damage to an adjacent thrift store, but damage to the warehouse and its contents was unavoidable, according to a release.
