Police believe the Winter Springs VFW shooting was premeditated.

SANFORD, Fla. - One of the men charged with second degree murder and attempted first degree murder in the fatal shooting at a Winter Springs Veterans of Foreign War post was denied bond on Wednesday.

David Maloney, 52; a member of the Warlocks motorcycle gang, along with Victor Amaro, 41; Robert Eckert, 38 and Paul Smith, 47; is charged with the shooting deaths of Harold Liddle, Peter Schlett  and David Jakiela.

According to police, the charity poker run was scheduled to start back in September in Winter Springs and would have ended in Sanford. Police said some attendees were from the Pennsylvania-based Warlocks motorcycle club, which had a few members come to Florida to establish a chapter in Seminole County and is not associated with the original Florida Warlocks club.

The men also face charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, according to the court report. The state attorney's office formally charged the men last week.
