WINDERMERE, Fla. - Two men pistol-whipped and robbed residents of a Windermere home late Saturday night, according to officials from the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said the home invasion occurred around 11 p.m. in the 8000 block of Leeland Archer Boulevard.

Authorities said the two home invaders went into the home and used a handgun to strike one of the victims, a 25-year-old man. Another victim, a 25-year-old woman, gave the men cash before they fled in an unknown vehicle, according to officials.

The man who was assaulted suffered minor injuries to his head and was transported to a local hospital.

This home invasion marks the third in the area in the past three months.

In October, a 19-year-old was shot during a home invasion. In November, two men posing as police officers demanded entry into a home, from which they stole jewelry.

Both of those home invasion scenes are less than 5 miles away from Saturday's scene. Authorities have not commented on if they believe the three incidents are related.
