Winter Park votes against police body cameras

Report: City commissioners concerned about cost

WINTER PARK, Fla. – A Central Florida city has voted against body cameras for its police force. 

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the Winter Park City Commission voted not to buy the cameras due to budget concerns.

Commissioners originally voted 4-1 against paying for the program in July and confirmed the decision during a meeting this week. 

 

According to reports, body cameras typically range from $120 to $2,000 a piece.
