ORLANDO, Fla. – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a SunRail train Tuesday morning south of downtown Orlando, according to Orlando police.
The woman, later identified as 60-year-old Deborah Lynn Youngbar was struck at 9:25 a.m. near Kaley Street and Lucerne Terrace on the railroad tracks, police said.

Orlando firefighters arrived and pronounced Youngbar dead at the scene.
Orlando police said Thursday that it appeared that Youngbar did not know the train was coming because one train had just passed and she assumed the track was clear, according to a news release.
Kaley Street was shut down in both directions during the investigation and reopened before noon, police said.
SunRail trains were delayed for about two hours, but back on time by 11:30 a.m., according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
This year has seen an increase in SunRail pedestrian deaths. Youngbar’s death Tuesday becomes the seventh fatal crash this year for the commuter rail. The last pedestrian killed was in Longwood on Sept. 21.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said that in each of those crashes, the victims should not have been on the tracks.
