Woman fights off, escapes attacker in attempted rape

Orlando police release composite sketch, seek identity of suspect

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who they say tried to sexually batter a woman early Friday morning.

At 3 a.m. Friday, Orlando police said the woman walked from the area of the Parliament House and then southbound on Orange Blossom Trail.

The suspect approached the woman and forcibly took her behind a business near 301 South Orange Blossom Trail. Police said the man then attempted to rape her.

The woman was able to fight the suspect off long enough to escape, police said.

Orlando police described the suspect as a man in his mid to late 30's, 5-foot 9-inches to 6-feet tall and weighs about 150 pounds. The man has a muscular build, close cut hair and brown eyes.

Authorities said the suspect is unidentified at this time. Anyone who has any information about this crime or the identity of the suspect is asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS. Police said a reward of up to $1,000 is available.
