Woman, infant daughter killed in crash

27-year-old Candy Greathouse ejected, killed in Frostproof wreck

FROSTPROOF, Fla. - Authorities say a Central Florida woman and her infant daughter were killed and another child was injured when their car collided head-on with another vehicle.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office reports that 27-year-old Candy Greathouse was driving on U.S. 27 Monday evening when she crossed the median and hit a truck.

Officials say Greathouse was thrown from her car and died at the scene. The Winter Haven News Chief reports that her 3-month-old daughter, Leilani Isabella Greathouse, was airlifted to a nearby hospital but died from her injuries.

Greathouse's 2-year-old daughter, Arianna Kayli Greathouse, was airlifted to a Tampa hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

The truck's driver and passenger were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
